Public car parking is permitted outside the Hospital. However, disc parking applies from 08:30 to 18:30 Monday to Saturday. Parking discs are available for purchase at the hospital reception. The Consultant Rooms and Clinic are at the upper end of the hospital. When you arrive, please check in with the reception staff and complete any forms or details. Please bring any x-rays, MRI or other imaging films/CD with you on the day. If new x-rays are needed, they may be requested and performed in Shanakiel Hospital. Any further imaging e.g. MRI scans, will be booked on the day. If physiotherapy is needed, your own physiotherapist or a local one will be recommended and arranged for you if necessary. If casts or braces need to be fitted, this can be done on the day in the Clinic. Fees for each consultation and reviews are payable on the day you attend.
If I need surgery, where will it be performed?
All surgical procedures including day procedures are performed at the Shanakiel Hospital.
How long will it take before I can be seen?
Once a letter of referral is received, appointments are usually arranged by us calling you to arrange an appropriate day and time. Currently, patients are offered appointments within a few days. More urgent referrals will be seen sooner following communication with your GP. If surgery is needed, we can offer surgery dates usually within 1-2 weeks.
